Last week’s top performer on Steam turned out to be the newly launched Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Released on November 20th, this game has already surpassed the one million mark in sales, on top of being played by those accessing it through Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. This is certainly a morale booster for the team at GSC Game World, who, quite bravely, managed to complete this game amidst real-life conflict zones.
Thanks to Heart of Chornobyl, Counter-Strike 2 slipped to the second spot for the week. Meanwhile, Valve saw their Steam Deck hardware climb to third, following the release of a limited-edition white version on November 18th, which almost immediately sold out.
PUBG: Battlegrounds and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 each moved down a rank to fourth and fifth, respectively. Meanwhile, despite encountering significant technical glitches, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 made its debut at number six.
Anticipation is building for the Early Access RPG Path of Exile, which managed an impressive seventh-place finish ahead of its December launch—helped along by Supporter Packs granting users early access on the release date.
Standing two places higher than before, Amazon and NCSoft’s Throne and Liberty landed at eighth place, nudging EA Sports FC 25 into ninth. Dota 2, from Valve, rounded out the list at number ten.
