Imagine waking up one day to find out unicorns exist. And then, picture the shock of seeing one meet its end in an unexpected encounter. That’s the thrilling premise of Death Of A Unicorn, as teased in its first trailer.
Now, while unicorns don’t actually roam our world, it’s an enchanting thought, isn’t it? Picture this: you’re on a drive, completely in your zone, when suddenly—bam! An accident with what you think is just a horse. But it’s not; it’s a unicorn. And, as it turns out, its remains hold the miraculous cure for cancer. That’s precisely where the A24-distributed film, Death of a Unicorn, takes a sharp turn. It evolves from a dark comedy into a horror flick, especially with another unicorn out there seeking vengeance. It’s quite the adventure, and the initial trailer, linked below, shows that it’s set to be a wild ride.

Leading the cast are Paul Rudd, familiar to many from Ant-Man, and Jenna Ortega, who shines in Wednesday, playing a father-daughter duo. They’re on their way to a crisis management summit with the father’s billionaire boss, a role taken on by the ever-talented Richard E. Grant. This boss is quick to spot the unicorn, realizing the potential fortune in its horn’s cancer-curing properties. Of course, he’s eager to capitalize on this discovery. The film’s ensemble is packed with other impressive talents including Will Poulter from Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Tea Leoni known for Bad Boys, Anthony Carrigan of Barry fame, Sunita Mani from Mr. Robot, Jessica Hynes known for Shaun of the Dead, and Steve Park from The Venture Bros.
While Death of a Unicorn doesn’t have a set release date, it is slated for a Spring 2025 premiere. Let’s just hope that real unicorns don’t decide to make an appearance before then and steal the film’s thunder!
