Alien: Rogue Incursion launched today on PSVR 2 and PC VR headsets, delighting fans of the Xenomorph-laden horror-shooter genre. Those using Quest will have to hold out until February next year. Despite the staggered release across platforms, developer Survios has exciting news: they’re already knee-deep in developing ‘Part Two’ of this thrilling game.
Having spent some quality time with Part One for our full-length review, we awarded the game a respectable 7 out of 10. The atmospheric immersion and gripping storyline were standout features, although players might find the frequent enemy encounters repetitive. Additionally, the save system proved to be a formidable challenge, sometimes frustratingly so.
Clocking in at approximately eight hours, the game certainly stands strong as a solo installment in the series. From thrilling encounters with Xenomorphs to captivating narrative twists, it leaves players eager for the next installment as the final credits roll.
Though the specifics remain under wraps, Survios hints at some much-needed diversity in gameplay for Part Two. “It continues Zula’s story, pitting her against deadlier enemies and more difficult challenges,” the company teased. The development process is already underway, promising a fresh take on this beloved universe.
Before diving into the anticipated Part Two, players can look forward to the release of Part One on Quest. Set for an exclusive debut on Quest 3/3S on February 13th, 2025, Survios faces the challenge of optimizing the game to fit the Quest 3’s mobile chipset. This task, which involves managing dynamically loading levels and intricate textures, explains the delay in the Quest version’s launch.
Looking ahead, with the core systems already established in Part One, we are optimistic about a swift development for Zula Hendricks’ upcoming—and possibly climactic—battle to rid the rogue science station of every last dangerous Xenomorph.
