Tango Gameworks, the Japanese game developer, is tossing around the idea of crafting a sequel to their 2023 hit, Hi-Fi Rush. During a chat with IGN, Colin Mack, the head of the studio, mentioned that although the team is leaning towards the possibility, they’re not ready to officially announce any plans for a continuation just yet.
“We’re definitely considering the idea of a sequel,” Mack shared with IGN. “However, we’re not at a point where we can say, ‘This is exactly what we’re planning.’”
John Johanas, who directed Hi-Fi Rush, chimed in to express the team’s affection for the game. “A lot of our team members have a deep-seated love for Hi-Fi Rush, so we see many avenues we could explore. Right now, we’re exploring different possibilities,” Johanas explained.
Kazuaki Egashira, who manages projects at the studio, highlighted Tango Gameworks’ commitment to innovation. According to Egashira, what makes the studio unique is its drive to deliver fresh experiences.
“Hi-Fi Rush gained traction as a new IP, but if it remained unchanged, it might lose its edge over time,” Egashira pointed out. “At Tango Gameworks, we embrace new challenges, striving to maintain a development environment where our passion shines through and developers remain at the heart of our work.”
