This announcement was shared through a Twitter post saying, “A free trial is coming soon to PS5®! From December 27 at 9 AM UTC to December 31 at 9 AM UTC, Test Drive Unlimited Crown will be playable for free with no time limits! Prepare to explore Hong Kong Island and the capital of Ibiza behind the wheel of exceptional cars!”
Despite its launch in September 2024, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has seen a mixed reception. On Metacritic, the PS5 iteration of the game scores 55 out of 100, while only 7% of critics on OpenCritic recommend it.
Critiques mainly target the game’s lackluster presentation and unpolished elements, particularly when placed alongside other titans in the racing game arena. Although it’s labeled as ‘PS5 Pro enhanced’ on the PS Store, it’s unclear how noticeable the improvements are.
Players eager to form their own opinions can try out the game on both PS5 and PS5 Pro. However, Nacon hasn’t confirmed whether progress from the trial will transfer to the full version, and this detail isn’t mentioned on the trial’s PS Store page either.
