Ever found yourself pondering just how much a PC gamer with a PC Game Pass subscription actually saves? Well, it turns out, the savings are pretty impressive. In 2024 alone, the total value of games added to the service almost reached a whopping $5,000.
Jamie Hore from PCGamesN did some number crunching and revealed that a total of 137 games were added to the Game Pass catalog in 2024. By tallying up the dollar value of each game at the time they were added, the grand total came to $4,812.63. Now, considering a full year of PC Game Pass will set you back around $143, that’s a hefty amount of money staying in your pocket.
Of course, there are a few caveats to consider. The calculation assumes that you’re eagerly downloading every new game the instant it becomes available. And let’s be honest, savings only count if you’re actually playing the games. Personally, even if playing Starfield could save me $30, that alone wouldn’t entice me—I’d need much more motivation to dive in.
Nonetheless, the sheer potential for savings is undeniable, and it’s all backed by data. The detailed breakdown in the PCGamesN article shows how much you might save month by month. April, for instance, was a gold mine with 17 games, including five day-one releases, added to the service. December, however, wasn’t as generous, with just six additions, two of which were day-one titles. Yet, even in quiet months like December, you could still save $214.94. That’s not too shabby!
So, does this newfound information change your perception of the PC Game Pass? Are you now contemplating a subscription, or perhaps regretting not jumping on board sooner? Or maybe you’re continuing your adventures as a digital pirate, carefree and chasing the next thrill. Feel free to share your thoughts with us below!
