In Synth Beasts, you step into the shoes of a runaway experiment, a “Synth,” who has broken free from a lab on a curious island. As you journey across the archipelago, you’ll run into other Synths—though not all of them are keen on making friends. To earn their trust, you’ll have to best them in combat. Victory means you can add them to your roster and use their distinctive skills in both fights and exploration.
The more battles your Synths participate in, the more experience they rack up, allowing them to climb the ranks. Each Synth offers five levels of progression, each with special perks that make them unique. As you progress, gaining experience can become more of a grind. So, it’s wise to frequently rotate your lineup to fully harness your team’s capabilities and unlock a wide array of new skills.
Take, for instance, the “Psitek” Synth. From the get-go, it can ignite torches, and at level three, it learns to destroy projectiles with a fiery slash—a critical ability for navigating certain dungeons. Beyond that, it mostly gains combat enhancements. Because of its focused combat skills, you might want to diversify your abilities by switching Synths, tapping into fresh talents with fewer experience points.
Early on in your adventure, you’ll commandeer a boat previously belonging to the scientists. This gives you the keys to explore the Genesis Archipelago, a network of islands brimming with hidden treasures, like extra hearts, stat-enhancing items, and currency for shopping sprees. If you’re not one for scouring every nook and cranny, you can zoom straight to the larger islands where you’ll face off against the scientists and their dubious doings.
The main islands host boss Synths, but don’t ignore the optional spots. They might just harbor some formidable creatures. Collecting all 40-plus Synths is no walk in the park, yet the Genesis Archipelago’s nooks are rich with rewards for those dedicated enough to seek them.
Traverse the Genesis Archipelago, liberate the mystical creatures, and put a stop to the scientists’ dark experiments! Set your sights on 2025 when Synth Beasts makes waves on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and the Microsoft Store.
