Today marks an exciting milestone for gaming enthusiasts and researchers as The Video Game History Foundation has officially unveiled their digital library. Currently in early access, this treasure trove already boasts over 1,500 text-searchable, out-of-print video game magazines, many of which are quite rare and hard for the general public to get their hands on. Alongside these, the library showcases an impressive array of previously unseen game development materials, artwork, press kits, and promotional items.

Highlighted in this initial launch are the Mark Flitman collection and the Cyan collection. At NWR, we were fortunate enough to preview a few pieces from the Mark Flitman collection, which we utilized in the production of our 30th anniversary documentary on Star Fox and our extensive look into Dylan Cuthbert’s Eclipse demo. Both of these projects were collaborations with the Video Game History Foundation. Meanwhile, the Cyan collection is truly a gem, featuring over 100 hours of footage documenting the creation process of the Myst series.
