Quest Games Optimizer, a popular software that enhances the performance of games on the Quest headset, has now surpassed a significant milestone of over 100,000 users.
Launched back in 2022, Quest Games Optimizer serves as a handy tool for Quest users. It operates in the background while you play, boosting resolution, improving performance, increasing frame rates, and even extending battery life across all models of Quest headsets—from the original 2019 release to the Quest 3S.
Its creator, known as ‘Anagan79,’ recently shared the exciting news of reaching over 100,000 users. If all these users purchased the app at full price, this accomplishment translates to over $1 million in gross revenue from the $10 app, which cleverly offers a lifetime license.
Though not all Quest games are compatible with this optimizer, the team has compiled a list of about 1,000 Quest apps that have been tried and approved to work well with it. The optimizer achieves this by allowing you to tweak various hardware settings for each game installed on your headset. You can either use presets or dive into creating your custom profiles to adjust aspects like render resolution, refresh rate, CPU and GPU settings, and fixed foveated rendering.
Unlike most Quest apps available on either the official Horizon Store or through SideQuest, a popular sideloading platform, Quest Games Optimizer is uniquely offered through its own website and distributed via itch.io.
For those keen on sideloading the app, one of the simplest ways is using SideQuest’s Advanced Installer. This handy tool lets you install apk files through a wired connection to your PC, making it a straightforward process.
