Elden Ring has seen a fair share of mods, but none quite as popular as the seamless co-op from the modder Yui. Now, this modding maestro has shifted attention to Dark Souls 3, much to the excitement of the gaming community.
FromSoftware’s approach to online multiplayer games often stirs debate. Their designs clearly aim to ease gameplay, as nothing beats having two protagonists darting and dodging their way to victory instead of just one. However, teaming up with friends can sometimes feel more like a puzzle than a pleasure. Stepping up to this challenge is Yui, the modder who gained fame with their Elden Ring seamless co-op mod and has also crafted a similar experience for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. Yui recently announced an upcoming seamless co-op mod for Dark Souls 3, promising to transform the multiplayer aspect of the game.
Yui showcased this mod in a YouTube video, where they navigated Lothric Castle alongside a friend. So, if you haven’t yet embarked on this journey but plan to, beware of spoilers! The video outlines that this mod “removes all multiplayer boundaries and allows connections to persist after death. You can play from the tutorial right to the game’s conclusion, with synchronized progress and no need for repeated summoning or any interruptions. Invasions remain optional and are enabled by default. Plus, you have the flexibility to tweak enemy scaling in multiplayer settings.” Sounds like a dream come true for co-op enthusiasts!
There’s no word yet on when this exciting mod will be available, so patience is key for eager players. In the meantime, there’s a treat in store with the upcoming Elden Ring release, Nightreign, slated for this year. It will feature seamless co-op integrated directly into its boss-focused roguelite gameplay, which fans are eagerly awaiting to explore.
