Pokémon Go is stepping up its game by teaming up with Major League Baseball to bring some exciting action to MLB stadiums. This collaboration with America’s favorite sports organization aims to offer fans an entertaining distraction when the on-field drama hits a slow spot.
Kicking off with the 2025 season’s opening day, this initiative will span three years. Baseball parks will be buzzing with PokéStops and Gyms flaunting the home team’s colors. Plus, there’ll be specially designed Routes throughout each venue where players can explore and earn rewards.
But that’s not all—you can also snag some cool extras. Think in-game baseball caps featuring your favorite team’s logo, time-bound research tasks during matches, and Pikachu sporting unique ballpark-themed backgrounds, all set to coincide with special theme nights. While dates for these nights might still shuffle around a bit, they promise to add an extra layer of fun to the game.
“We’re thrilled to join forces with MLB to enhance the Pokémon Go experience within ballparks nationwide,” said Sarah Gilarsky, head of business development at Niantic. “This innovative blend of digital gameplay with the physical thrill of watching a live baseball game is a fantastic way for friends and families to bond over their shared love for Pokémon and America’s pastime.”
