Indie game creators Chipo y Juan are gearing up to launch their intriguing mixed reality game, Detective VR, inspired by the world of Minority Report. Gamers on the Quest platform can look forward to diving into this experience as early as next week.
Scheduled for release on February 27th, Detective VR will be available on Quest 3 and 3S, bringing narrative-driven gameplay right into your living room. In this game, players can manipulate time, gather clues, and interrogate witnesses using Passthrough mode, blurring the lines between reality and the virtual world.
Detective VR promises a unique blend of gameplay styles reminiscent of Return of the Obra Dinn, Immortality, and the 2002 classic film, Minority Report. Expect a challenge—testimonies may not always be trustworthy, and you’ll need to jump between mixed and virtual realities to question suspects and uncover the truth.
Exclusively designed for the Quest platform, the game promises about five hours of captivating, story-rich gameplay. You’ll have the ability to rewind, pause, and replay scenes to uncover those elusive clues hidden within the timeline. Plus, you’ll be interacting with characters brought to life through motion capture and professional voice acting.
The talented cast boasts familiar faces from popular TV shows like The Crown, Succession, and Doctor Who, featuring actors such as Luke Mably, Angus Wright, Melissa Bright, Hannah Wright, David Clark, and Bryony Byrne.
Chipo y Juan, based in Marseille, France, have made quite a name for themselves in the VR scene. They’ve previously developed VORTEX VR for Quest in 2023 and contributed to several art exhibition experiences.
