Apple is rolling out its impressive suite of AI tools, known as Apple Intelligence, to the Vision Pro in April with the new visionOS 2.4 update. If you’re a developer or just can’t wait, you can dive right into it by activating developer mode.
This update promises to bring a host of innovative AI features to the Vision Pro. Users can expect to see writing tools, AI-generated images, smart messaging replies, and much more. These enhancements, which have made waves on iOS and Mac since last October, will be supercharged by Vision Pro’s reliance on voice and hand-based input for text.
The update has more in store than just AI improvements. There’s an upgrade coming to Guest User mode. This change makes it easier for users to share their Vision Pro with friends using a nearby iPhone or iPad. No more fumbling with, “Now go back to Home, tap that one—no, the other icon,” when you want to share your experience.
A new addition with the 2.4 release is the Spatial Gallery. This is a curated collection featuring spatial photos, videos, and breathtaking panoramas crafted by artists, filmmakers, and photographers. This gallery will soon be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the UAE, the UK, and the US.
On top of these, there’s good news for those who also use iOS. Vision Pro is getting even closer to it. When visionOS 2.4 officially launches, Vision Pro users can queue downloads for apps and games, explore spatial content, and manage their devices seamlessly using a new Apple Vision Pro iOS app. This app will be launched alongside iOS 18.4.
At first, Apple’s Intelligence features from the 2.4 release will be available only in U.S. English. However, Apple has plans to add more features and language support as the year progresses.
Although a specific release date hasn’t been set, beyond the promise of April, a developer beta of visionOS 2.4 is already out. If you’re interested in joining the developer beta, you can turn on “Developer Mode” through the Settings menu under Privacy & Security, and your Vision Pro will be ready to explore the new features after a restart.
