Dave Baszucki, the CEO of Roblox, has a straightforward piece of advice for parents worried about the platform’s potential risks: if you’re unsure, it might be best to keep your kids off. In a conversation with the BBC, Baszucki, who co-founded the popular service, emphasized that even a single negative experience on Roblox is one too many.
He candidly shared, “If you’re not comfortable, don’t let your kids be on Roblox.” At first glance, this might seem a bit contradictory, but he stands by the principle that parents should have the final say about their children’s online activities.
When the discussion turned to reports of bad behavior and misuse on Roblox, Baszucki was clear about the company’s stance: “We believe that even one bad incident is one too many. We actively monitor for bullying and harassment, employing filters to catch such activities. Behind the scenes, our analysis is thorough, and if needed, we won’t hesitate to involve law enforcement.”
These comments come amidst increasing concerns about safety on Roblox, prompting the company to enhance its measures to protect young users and ease parental worries.
