Acer has just rolled out six exciting new graphics cards in their Radeon RX 9070 series, bringing cutting-edge performance with base and overclocked models that hit boost clocks up to 3.1 GHz.
In an impressive reveal, Acer introduces the BiFrost and Nitro versions of the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 GPUs, with some noteworthy price points—such as the premium Nitro RX 9070 XT OC at $829. Acer, while not the most prolific AMD board partner, has certainly made a splash this time with their latest RDNA 4 GPU series featuring three models each for BiFrost and Nitro.
The collection offers two sleek Nitro versions tailored for both the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, alongside a striking BiFrost version for each. The BiFrost models prioritize Acer’s signature aesthetic flair and cooling efficiency, whereas the Nitro aims to tap into the mainstream market without skimping on performance.
Take the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB for instance—it rocks a triple-fan system with a sophisticated shroud design and cool silver accents. This hardware is armed with Acer’s FrostBlade 4.0 ringed fans plus a counter-spin mechanism to ensure top-notch heat dissipation. At about 295 mm long and 2.5 slots thick, this card is factory-overclocked up to 3.1 GHz, setting the stage for a superior gaming experience.
Similarly, the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16 GB echoes this design, although it’s built with two 8-pin power connectors compared to the XT’s trio. Curiously, both variants maintain a 340W power rating, though the RX 9070 natively demands less power. Technically, the PCI-E x16 slot, combined with the two 8-pin connectors, can handle the 340W load, yet leaves limited room for the same level of overclocking potential as the RX 9070 XT OC.
Shifting gears to the Acer Nitro series, which boasts both OC and non-OC models for the RX 9070 series, there’s the Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC. It mirrors the BiFrost in being a triple-fan unit reaching up to 3.1 GHz in boost clock speed. It uses three 8-pin power connectors to drive its 340W TDP, although the non-OC variant has a power rating of 304W while still utilizing all three connectors. Without factory overclocking, it can achieve a 2,970 MHz boost and 2.4 GHz during gameplay.
As for the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC and its 16 GB counterpart, they both feature boost clocks of up to 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz, respectively. Here, the OC model demands 245W, while the standard card operates at 220W, both sharing a similar design aesthetic.
While Acer has kept mum on the pricing details for all the models, they’ve pegged the Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB at an eye-catching $829.99. One can infer that the BiFrost edition will command an even higher price. Availability details remain vague, but Acer plans to launch the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC in the US by April.
