The RTX 5060 series GPU release has been pushed back, disappointing many eager fans. Talks are buzzing about a delay for NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060, now expected to hit the market a few weeks later than originally planned.
Initially, the word was that we’d see these GPUs roll out in March, with availability set for April. However, new details suggest that the launch has slipped beyond that timeline. It’s unclear why this delay is happening, but Board Channels reports that all of NVIDIA’s board partners have been informed. Even though it’s not officially confirmed by NVIDIA, the chatter makes it seem quite plausible. Previous whispers blamed potential bugs and supply chain issues for the hold-up, but NVIDIA hasn’t verified these concerns.
In a recent communication, NVIDIA reportedly told its AIC partners via email about the postponement of the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 series. The release of the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB and 8GB versions is now pushed to mid-April, while the RTX 5060 will likely debut in mid-May. Exact dates await further announcements from NVIDIA.
Interestingly, these NVIDIA GPUs might launch around the same time as AMD’s RX 9060 series, which includes both RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 models. These AMD cards come in 8GB and 16GB versions, pitting them directly against the rumored RTX 5060 Ti variants.
As it stands, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti aims to take over from the RTX 4060 Ti, featuring 4608 CUDA Cores, alongside 8GB or 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM, with a 180W TDP. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 is set to replace the RTX 4060, boasting 3840 CUDA Cores, 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 150W. Recent leaks suggest a 12GB VRAM version of the RTX 5060 could be in the works, potentially giving NVIDIA an edge over AMD, whose RX 9060 series may only offer an 8GB variant.
Let’s keep our eyes peeled for when these highly anticipated releases finally make their way to the market.
