HOOP-O Studios, stepping into the spotlight as a fresh face in the indie gaming scene, is gearing up to launch its exciting new mixed reality game, “Alex and the Jets,” for the Quest 3 next month.
This game dives into a casual but thrilling arcade-style flying experience where you become Alex the Squirrel, navigating the skies in a charming little fixed-wing propeller plane. Players will find themselves engaged in high-octane battles with The Jets, a feisty gang of aerial adversaries that burst through dimension-bending portals in your walls. As you fend them off, you’ll also be racing through donut-shaped goals, snagging weapon power-ups and health boosts to keep your adventure going strong.
But it’s not just about the combat. “Alex and the Jets” also offers a chill free roam mode, allowing you to zip around your space at your leisure, completely stress-free. To add a competitive edge, there are local leaderboards where you can track your progress, and a store filled with cosmetic upgrades to dress Alex in style with new outfits.
What’s particularly intriguing is HOOP-O’s decision to showcase gameplay footage captured directly from the headset’s camera in the trailer, a move designed to bolster confidence in the game’s immersive experience.
While we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the exact release date, HOOP-O Studios is eyeing an April launch on the Horizon Store, with full support for both the Quest 3 and Quest 3S. Keep your eyes peeled for Alex’s high-flying debut!
