This week’s update from the Nintendo Switch eShop brings back some nostalgia with classic SNES games, fresh tunes for the Nintendo Music app, enticing sales, and a slew of exciting new titles.
The Switch Online library is growing more robust, now featuring four classic titles from Koei, a name synonymous with the SNES era golden age. We start with Nobunaga’s Ambition and its sequel, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness, both set during Japan’s tumultuous Sengoku period. Released in the early ’90s, these games invite players to strategically reunite the fragmented regions of Japan.
Following on, we have Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire, a strategy game immersed in China’s historical Three Kingdoms period. Its deep, turn-based gameplay is based on the famous historical novel, offering rich, tactical challenges.
Venturing further, we reach Uncharted Waters: New Horizons. Set during the Age of Discovery, this game, released in 1993, lets players engage in sailing and trading across Europe as they uncover new horizons.
The Nintendo Music app isn’t left behind in the expansion. It sees the addition of 23 tracks from the Kirby and the Forgotten Land soundtrack, although curiously, this isn’t the complete set. We’re left wondering where the missing tunes are, hoping they’ll appear soon on the app.
On the eShop front, keep an eye out for a host of new games, like Which Way Up: Galaxy Games. Don’t miss our sit-down with the developers from Turtle Flip Studio in last week’s Pure Nintendo Podcast, where you can catch more insights before our full review drops.
Now that you’re up to speed, which of these goodies will tempt you this week? We’d love to hear about what you’re diving into!

This classic will be available starting March 28, exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online members. An interesting feature: up to eight players can use a single Joy-Con controller!
NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION: Lord of Darkness – Released in 1994, this title continues the saga as you aim to unify all 48 feudal states in Japan. Mark your calendar for March 28 to grab this gem through Switch Online.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire – Set during the decline of the Second Han Dynasty, players are thrust into a power struggle amidst China’s greatest heroes.
