Riot Games has unveiled the fresh title for their forthcoming trading card game: Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game. This new venture takes place in Runeterra, the vibrant world familiar to fans of League of Legends and Arcane, along with some other tabletop adventures. To kick off its launch, the game, which goes by the name Riftbound, will debut with more than 300 cards in an inaugural set titled Origins. Eager players in China can get their hands on it this summer, with a wider release hitting many English-speaking countries on October 25, as detailed in Riot’s press release.
Riftbound offers multiple ways to play—1v1, 2v2, or an all-out free-for-all multiplayer mode. Drawing parallels with the digital card game, Legends of Runeterra, Riftbound will feature champions as the heavy hitters in your deck. The strategy lies in crafting decks centered on these champions using various support cards. Among the exciting lineup, players will find pre-built Champion Decks with 56 cards each, focusing on figures like Viktor, Jinx, and Lee Sin. Be on the lookout for other beloved characters such as Annie, Garen, Lux, Master Yi, Volibear, Yasuo, and more. Plus, anticipate cards that wield in-game items, runes, and spells. The official website even teases artwork of the fan-favorite champions Kai’Sa and Ahri.
For those eager to dive into the game, you can snag a boxed set named Riftbound: Proving Grounds, which offers an array of starter decks. Alternatively, try your luck with 14-card booster packs. Riot has partnered with UVS Games, a trusted name in the trading card game distribution realm, to ensure Riftbound makes its way to local gaming shops. If your favorite store stocks UniVersus Collectible Card Game—featuring characters from Attack on Titan, Critical Role, and other renowned franchises—there’s a good chance Riftbound will grace its shelves too.
