Konami has given fans a glimpse into the first update set for the Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster. This patch aims to smooth out some of the game’s rough edges and fix pesky bugs, including the inability to properly exit the PC version of the game. Although they’ve shared the update’s details, Konami has yet to announce exactly when it will drop.
With the Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster: Gate of Rune and Dunan Unification Wars now launched, Konami is focused on enhancing this beloved JRPG duo. They’re tackling a list of known issues and rolling out new features as part of a comprehensive update. This list, in effect, serves as the game’s inaugural patch notes, laying out all the tweaks and fixes to come.
One major update targets the PC version, addressing the awkwardness of closing the game. Currently, players have to use keyboard shortcuts or navigate the Steam overlay, which isn’t the best user experience. This patch changes that by finally enabling a native exit option. Additionally, you’ll be able to adjust the speed of background music when opting for faster battles.
Among other nifty improvements, players gain the option to silence footsteps and toggle auto-save settings. The storage interface is getting an upgrade too, displaying whether items can be equipped and their potential impacts on stats. Konami also pledged to iron out localization inconsistencies and rectify issues with healing Runes malfunctioning in battle.
Though we’re still waiting for the update’s launch date, Konami promises to roll it out across all versions simultaneously once finalized.
Along with bug fixes for discrepancies across languages and issues with Runes, Suikoden I problems like game freezes due to full bags and battling inconsistencies are being addressed. Suikoden II will see fixes in storage errors and improvements to stat upgrades. Extra features like speeding up the BGM, altering dash movements, and better army-level tracking are slated to enhance gameplay.
Stay tuned; Konami will release the patch date once it’s ready, promising simultaneous updates for every platform. Meanwhile, the journey continues on March 6, 2025, when Suikoden 1 and 2 HD officially hits the shelves, ready to whisk you back into its thrilling universe.
