Are you itching for more content in Pokemon TCG Pocket? Well, you’re in luck! A brand-new expansion is set to release next week, and it features an exciting booster pack where you might just snag yourself a Mew.
According to a recent Tweet from the game’s official account, this upcoming expansion is called Mythical Island, and it’s scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, December 17. The person behind the TCG Pocket account humorously shared, “I really pulled some strings to get this info to you (honestly, I just asked really nicely and maybe shed a tear or two).”
If you check out the trailer below, you’ll see a whole slew of new cards coming your way, including some big hitters like Mew, Aerodactyl, and Celebi X. The Mythical Island booster is a great addition for those who’ve had their fill of capturing countless Doduo (Doduo? Doduo? Who knows, right?).
The trailer teases “over 80 cards in the Mythical Island expansion, showcasing five exhilarating new Pokémon X cards, five new Trainer cards, and beautifully immersive cards that transport you into the enchanting world of Pokémon.”
For collectors, there’s more! New binder and display board covers featuring Mythical Island scenery are available, offering a fun way to send your mythical creature companions on a mini-vacation—at least, in spirit. It’s the quirky Pokémon way of managing your eclectic, albeit morally questionable, zoo of battling pets.
On a side note, ever wonder if the Pokémon enjoy being nearly eternal beings who fight in card game arenas? While that remains a mystery, The Pokemon Company has just announced that TCG Pocket has surpassed 60 million downloads. That’s a pretty big number, and I would rather not upset such a massive community, which includes me. After all, I don’t want to get too caught up in self-irony!
