As the PlayStation Vita fades into obscurity, much like tears dissipating in the rain, a number of its games have been resurrected on modern platforms. One such title making a comeback is the 2012 action RPG Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny, set to be revived in the upcoming months. Despite its original exclusivity to the now-defunct handheld, this marks the first time the game is coming to Western audiences. Interestingly, it will not land on any PlayStation platform.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny Remastered, previously exclusive to the PS Vita, is slated for release on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on May 22. This remaster is bringing the decade-old title into the present day with enhanced graphics, revamped user interface, newly added game mechanics, and, for the first time, English localization.
On top of these upgrades, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny Remastered is incorporating several quality-of-life improvements to enhance accessibility. Expect features like refined tuning, mission selection, and a lock-on mode. The trailer below offers a sneak peek into the rejuvenated cult favorite.
In this remastered version, players take on the role of soldiers navigating turbulent times, choosing to align with one of three factions: Earth Alliance, Z.A.F.T, or Archangel. They’ll engage in a variety of story missions drawn from iconic series moments such as Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, and side stories including Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73: STARGAZER. With over 100 mobile suits to select from, players can fine-tune their mechs for intense, action-packed Gundam showdowns.
For those PlayStation fans who also own a Nintendo Switch or a gaming PC, preorders for the PC version are currently available, with preorders for the Switch to follow soon.
